At the Edge of Light

Captured with a 4x5 large format camera, these installations are created using a variety of materials, including mirrors, Mylar, Plexiglas and tungsten lights.

An experimentation with light, shadow and form, these constructed abstract scenes create a visual illusion, disrupting the viewer’s perception of space and scale, while dissolving the limits of the photographic frame.

I am asking the question “can a photograph be an abstraction?” simply because it seemed almost impossible. A camera has to have something to record... Can I make a photograph that is based in something that is not tangible?
